Chloe’s charity swim in memory of her gran
SIX-YEAR-OLD Chloe Bailey raised £525 in memory of her gran, pictured receiving a certificate of thanks and plaque for her efforts from the charity. Chloe Bailey swam 16 lengths of Belfairs swimming pool, in Leigh, and asked friends and family to sponsor her. The donation will go towards the charity’s £250,000 appeal for a new digital mammography machine, which will replace old breast screening equipment. Chloe, a pupil at Thundersley Primary School, did the swimathon on March 14, which would have been her grandmother Patricia Owen’s 65th birthday.
Chloe’s mum, Liz Bailey, of Thundersley, said: “My mum always went to Lady McAdden for breast screening and had breast cancer diagnosed there.
“Chloe did so well and raised much more than we thought we’d manage.” ‘WELL DONE AND THANK YOU CHLOE’ – Linda Harrison, General Manager.
